Been crazy and fun
by OneNote on Jul.02, 2009
I’ve been spending late nights and hot days running around so much lately! I’ve been playing weekly at the Burleson Warehouse (4700 Burleson) and am playing there tomorrow night too! I usually play electro house and techno there, even played three sets of all vinyl there.
Production is becoming the focus now, because playing out is really just for fun. To really have make an impact I’ve gotta make music and have gotten equipment like a full-size weighted keyboard for a healthy midi controller.
Aaron Gates’ and Max Edwards have a big show I’m playing at Karma for coming up August 1st, My favorite local djs will be there and the after-party of course.

OneNote at the Burleson Warehouse 6/6/09
by OneNote on Jun.06, 2009
Yesterday was one of those really good days.
I didn’t know when I met up with the O.N.S. crew and other close friends at the pool that I would be up all night slammin wax. I got a last minute call from the cool people that run the Burleson warehouse, its got underground music all night with an old school rave vibe.
Around 3:30 to 5:30 am I was playing the hardest slamming tracks from my record bag. It was an up-tempo set because the DJ before was rockin hard dubstep and I wanted some contrast to create energy. I played as every other time in the warehouse using 100% vinyl from my extensive collection. Vinyl is meant to be played loud as possible in warehouses and that’s why I like playing out there.
I hope you were there to see it and Thanks to all my friends for coming out in the middle of the night to spread the sound around. Thanks to my talented Dj friends Aurelius Scott and Sean Sinclair for introducing me to the Warehouse in the first place!

Music was perfect for gettin down tonight!
by OneNote on May.29, 2009
The gig was very cool. The upstairs room at Silhouette, known as KTV Lounge had a vibe that people enjoyed, with all the lights and definitely enough sound.
JDubb was strong opening up with full rich sounds to go perfect with the Stonehenge sunrise footage. He warmed up the room for everyone with some choice tracks.
I played probably the best funk set I’ve ever thrown down. When I get to slam at full volume my best mixes come out for sure. Having good friends around like tonight is why I enjoy spinning.
Cutler went on after me with an impressive all vinyl mix! He showed everyone in his 1st Austin appearance a seamless, funky, groove-laden set. His style is technically spot on, with a track selection only a good ear could get together. If you’ve never seen a turntablist live you must come see the show Sunday with Universal going strong too.
Afterman, Cutler and Universal brought CD’s, posters and flyers to the show for give-aways that should help everyone remember the authentic quality work they do.
Thanks to all who came out to show love and especially those who already want to come again on Sunday!

Good times out on Tuesday
by OneNote on May.27, 2009
Just a quick shoutout to all the cool people doing their thing downtown this Tuesday night. I was spreading the sound around for the Sunrise shows coming up on Thursday and Sunday. The more I talk about it, the more I know people love Funk and it needs to be played much louder and more often,
Catching up with Laura from back in the day made the night though. Big ups to Laura and Ariana!

Sets coming out from Way Back
by OneNote on May.26, 2009
Thanks to my awesome friends, I have some sets to add from 2003 and 2004. There are from before all the digital Dj setups were popular, so it’s 100% vinyl. There are 2 Prog. House sets, which I used to spin all the time, but my sound got much heavier and techno-driven later.
From July of 2004, I recorded a Breaks set that has some tough classics, like Rabbitweed!
I found a Drum and Bass set too, which I think has it’s own unique style. I don’t buy Dj setsof DnB, just awesome tracks I find in record stores. I got a good collection together and the product is bad ass.
The last, believe it or not, is a Trance set. The ONLY Trance set I’ve ever put together. It was just too easy to slam these tracks and ham it up. Spinning Trance is a guilty pleasure I suppose. Enjoy, or not.
Most importantly, if you’ve ever heard these sets before then consider yourself an honorary member of the OneNote Sound crew because these suckers are rare. My friends have supported The Sound for a while and this is an example of why I wouldn’t trade them for all the vinyl ever presssed.
The web ninja’s are working on getting the sets up.
Spread The Sound around,
